This is a link to a great article Margaret wrote for the Historical Novel Society website. For those interested in learning more about philosophy/philosophers through works of fiction, this is a great place to start.

    • Glad you enjoyed it, Joye! If you liked The Queen’s Fool, you might enjoy my favorite novels about Elizabeth I (actually, about Princess Elizabeth, before she came to the throne), Margaret Irwin’s trilogy, (1) Young Bess, (2) Elizabeth: Captive Princess, and (3) Elizabeth and the Prince of Spain. While they’re not overtly philosophical, any novels that well written and insightful about grace under pressure are bound to spark some philosophical musing.

Sounds like a great bunch of books, Margaret.

I read “Wolf Hall” by Hilary Mantel after discussing it with Margaret, and it was a terrific read. She has great taste in historical novels.
